Mixed Messages
It is definitely the coldest day in Korea so far today. I don’t know exactly how cold because I really don’t feel like googling it, plus I’m busy writing this here blog post….But its cold enough that I now have the Korean word for “cold” in my brain forever because of hearing it so much from my students today.
Anyway, I just got one of those nifty messages from the school messenger (its like AIM just for my school…pretty sweet). It is in Korean of course, but lately I have been using google translate to see what the messages say. I decided to do this one day after 3 classes in a row did not show up and when I looked for a co-teacher to express my confusion she said “Ohhh…yes…didn’t you hear the announcement?”…Uh…yep..I definitely heard someone speaking Korean over the PA earlier……*long sigh goes here*
There is definitely no hope of me understanding THOSE messages. BUT I can definitely translate the written ones I keep getting.
For some reason though…I think google translate does not have the best grasp of Korean….Here are some messages to date:
